Dr. Akinyemi Olaleye
Medical Director, Sameda Clinics
Dr Akinyemi Olaleye graduated from the University of Ibadan Medical School and completed his postgraduate residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, after which he became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.
Training And Clinical Journey
After residency, he joined The Premier Specialists’ Medical Centre, Lagos, as an obstetrician and gynaecologist. He later earned a diploma in Gynaecological Endoscopy from UKSH Universität Klinikum Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany, in 2010.
He served as an Executive Director and board member of The Premier Specialists’ Medical Centre, Lagos, from 2011 to 2020 before setting up Sameda Clinics Limited in 2020 as a women-centred gynaecological and endoscopy centre.
Leadership And Professional Service
Dr Olaleye is the Medical Director of Sameda Clinics Limited and also serves as a director at Sameda Integrated Services in Ontario, Canada.
He is the current Vice President of the Association of Gynaecological Endoscopy Surgeons of Nigeria and an examiner for the West African College of Surgeons.
Research, Public Service, And Broader Engagement
He has conducted and published research in international journals, contributes regularly to Nigerian magazines on medical issues, and has attended extensive clinical and non-clinical training in IVF, advanced endoscopy, advanced life support, and global health leadership both locally and internationally.
Beyond medicine, he has partnered with startups, serves on the board of trustees of The Peculiar Saints Orphanage in Ajah, Lagos, and is also a director at Travel Banc in Lekki, Lagos.
